Game Design Projects

The art and design of all of the following projects were created and designed by me (with the exception of some of the fonts). The projects were created in the Unity 3D Game Engine. The majority of the art was created in Asprite and Photoshop. All of the source code for the projects was written by me.

Bullet Rogue

I have always enjoyed roguelikes and I also love this pixelated style using only simple shapes and solid colors. Out of that was born this project that I am close to finishing!

Fight your way through wave after wave of different types of enemies swarming you. Kille enemies and collect items that will make you stronger. Fight a difficult boss every 10 waves.

This is one of my most ambitious projects to date. I wrote an entire system that allows me to create pretty much any item or effect I can imagine. These items can also be given to enemies meaning that the enemy design space is quite large. In addition, I love the strong bold colors on the dark background that make the game pop, and the shader effects I wrote give the whole project a nice arcade feeling!

Tiled (Working Title)

This project is one of my most recent. Inspired by the world of cads and dice this is a tile-pushing game where you try to place tiles in a way to earn the most amount of points possible.

I created basic tile sprites and used Miro to do some rapid game design and iterations on various ideas. Then taking those ideas into Unity to make a first prototype.

This project is very much WIP.

Tile Kingdom

Inspired by the board game Carcassonne, you play different tiles with individual rulesets that award good tile placement while punishing bad tile placement.

I had a lot of fun with this project when coming up with all the different ways tiles would interact, and drawing the numerous tiles in a restricted resolution.

Stuck in a Loop

This was my game entry for the 47th Ludum Dare Game Jam event which happens approximately twice a year. The theme for the 47th jam was "Stuck in a Loop" hence the name of the game.

The game was developed in its entirety within the 72 hours given.

Play a character running in a loop avoiding obstacles and collecting coins to win the level.

Reaper

This was my game entry for the 51st Ludum Dare Game Jam. The theme was "every 10 seconds"

You play as the grim reaper and are fighting back hordes of the undead. Every 10 seconds you are rewarded with a new buff, but watch out for the enemies growing stronger as well.

Flappy Kunai

Flappy Kunai was a project I created because of my school assignment to recreate Flappy Bird in my style. I replaced the bird with a Japanese Kunai knife. I also flipped the idea of pipes on its head by making it so that the goal of the game is to hit a target instead of avoiding obstacles.

I thought that the project ended up looking pretty complete considering that I only had a few days to make it.

Falling Blocks

This is the second game I ever published. I developed it in 9th grade, early 2019, having been developing with Unity for about a year at that point.

Avoid getting crushed by the various types of blocks falling from the sky.

This is not my finest work, but I look back on it fondly as one of my first "real" games.

The Descent

The first game I ever published right before "Falling Blocks"

You play as a little cube guy and throw yourself from platform to platform with ice physics. Shoot down enemies to gain extra points or avoid them entirely.

Train To Knowhere

This is one of the first projects that I have spent lots of time on to make sure that it all looks cohesive and appealing. I loved the way it all looked and will continue working to complete a playable prototype.

You play as the train itself, defending yourself from the eldrich horrors trying to stop you in your tracks. Employ different weapons to effectively defend yourself from destruction.

3D Tower Defence

One of my many unpublished games, this un-named tower defense game was one of my first attempts at 3D.

I really liked the style of this prototype, using numerous post-processing effects to increase visual appeal.
